Nothing bass-related ... so I've switched over to camera gear.

Don't know what you shoot, but the Nikon D5 is kind of awesome.

I'm just a hobbyist, so I've settled for the D7200.

1. A Godin Shifter Classic 4, blackburst finish, maple board. I have never had my hands on one of these basses, but I think I have a preference for passive pickups these days (and I am curious about the P/J split setup), everything I have read about the neck on this bass makes me think it would be really comfortable for me, it's gotten generally glowing reviews, and I want to start buying Canadian as much as possible.

2. An acoustic bass guitar of some sort...haven't really settled on a make/model yet...

3. Recording software! Confession time; I am 41, haven't recorded or played in public since I was 21, which was also the last time I was in a band. I've been a play-for-my-own-amusement bedroom bassist most of my life, I have a lot of good ideas that I think it's about time I get off my ass and record. But I am a bit of a technophobe and all the recording gear options kind of overwhelm me... - I'm planning to get over it this year and make the plunge...

4. A real long shot right now, but I'd love to get an electronic drum kit. Either Yamaha or Roland...Roland seems to be considered the top dog in the e-drum world, the only bad thing I have read about those kits is that the hardware isn't as robust as it maybe should be.

Ovation Magnum III 1979 to be exact

I love my III, from 1981. So many Magnum owners boast about the I or II, and those seem to be the upper-crust Magnums by reputation. OK, those have distinctive shapes, and the III kind of looks like a Fender. But the III has such a fine ringing tone! And I actually like that handle above the neck while I play. My only regret is I have never taken it for a ride with a truly kick-&^% amp. I just have a 100-Watt GK combo, which sounds great, don't get me wrong. In fact, I filled a mid-size church with that combination. But I know the Magnum is capable of vibrating through your soul if sufficiently amped, and someday I'll try it out that way. These are dilettante complaints, I know! You folks with all the gear at your disposal know what I'm missing – chime in here!

Do you know any place in vegas that stores origin effects? I wanna buy a cali76compact and my friend's gonna be there soon.
I will use it as a second neck for the maple JB and save money by not buying a whole other bass.
