what are you GASSING for right now?

I bought a used Hofner violin bass clone about a year ago and have played it for all of my band rehearsals and gigs since. Huge fun to play and weighs about 6lbs.

Yes, I can imagine they must be fun to play. If I come across a decent clone second-hand at a good price, I could be tempted.

Sometimes I see the Epiphone version on the local Craigslist and Kijiji. Sellers are usually asking $275 to $350 for them.

Mine is a Tanglewood TVB-3, I don't know if they are readily available outside the UK. I picked it up for about 130GBP on Ebay and put a set of D'Addario ECB81M Chromes on it and love it to bits.

I compared it to a Hofner Ignition (bottom of the range) and wouldn't swap it.

I found a Hofner Icon 'B Bass' for $250 at a local pawn shop! Jumped on it!
Love the feel and the look of it, but I can't trust it to stay in tune. The designers had to save a buck someplace so they targeted the tuning pegs. I could/should replace them with a set of Mini Gotohs for less than $100...but I ain't done it yet...

Still hunting Bass number 13.... good part of last year and this. The recent basses were purchased with a goal in mind, meaning I needed a short scale or I want an active bass, or I should add a jazz bass. now I am at point where I want #13 but the gaps have been filled. I play in a classic rock band covering 50-80 music and have no need for a 5 string so that is off the table. just frustrating :)

I had to help out a family member a bit back and had to liquidate my good powered PA speakers, and I have been digging around to find a PA rig that does what I want it to. We play small / medium sized (No bigger than a hotel ballroom) type venues. So here goes.

4 @ ElectroVoice ZLX-15P 15" Powered loudspeakers. (Mains)
2 @ ElectroVoice ETX-18SP 18" Powered subs.
Behringer X Air X18 Digital mixer.

This is basically modelled after a friends bands rig. It's a huge chunk more expensive than what we are running, but it sounds awesome!

Instrument wise, Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass Special V in Transparent Crimson Red.
