Been waiting for reading this one for years, finally I'm almost at the end of vol.1

Started on Overexposed by Sylvére Lotringer (Paladin, 1990). It's broadly about the postwar trivialization of sex in Western culture; more specifically about the systematic, behaviorism-oriented saturation and desensitizing practices used by sex therapists.

Anyone read any of Osho's work?
It was recommended to me and Im looking for a good place to start.

I used to own a copy of the "Osho Zen Tarot Deck" - the images from the cards are reproduced online all over the place so a quick google search might give a flavour of his work. Pretty nice stuff, actually.

He's got an interesting history which might be worth a quick scan before deciding how large a pinch of salt to use when reading further.

Re-reading 1984 and Animal Farm. Those two books rank as some my personal favorites.

Next on the block is Crime and Punishment and Dr Zhivago. I also at some point want to pick back up with The Brothers Karamazov.

Just got my son the ANABASIS by Xenophon. it is the story of Greek mercenaries who decide to fight on the side of Cyrus in an unsuccessful attempt to take the throne of the Persian empire and have to fight their way back out of Persia to get home.

I remember reading it when I was his age (15 or so)...ah, the good old days, when teachers actually made you read classic books.

anyway, it was a hell of a good read and I hope (but don't expect) he will enjoy it.

well, my son is on about page 41 of 150 or so. just got his analysis..."This blows"

oh well
