Just finished Origin by Dan Brown. The hero dies at the end.

If one is interested in some superb short stories, I just finished 'Life is Short' by Shawn Inmon.
Most short story collections always have a few 'filler' stories, but hot here...each one is well worth ones time...thought-provoking, poignant, and in some cases, quite emotional. A+

Just finished A Civil Action, a book about a big environmental contamination case from the 80's - disappointing finish, but a very interesting look at how the US legal system can be used to block progress, change the rules of debate and change the course of a lawsuit.

Got a few pieces myself....Luckily we don't need any more furniture....pricey....Yes, I want more!We do have two pieces, now.
The two pieces we have is older. One from around 1905-1911, the other from between 1912-1916.
The book I am reading (to get back on topic) is of a private collection that includes various Stickley brother products, as well as Rohlfs, Greene brothers, Roycroft, etc. The stuff of dreams, well, lots of money, anyway. I have come across some very reasonably priced Stickley, though, so I should get more involved in the auction world. And, blow ALL my money.

is an appraiser on the ARS and is in charge of the musical instruments division of a major auction house.Sometimes, I read through their catalogs....................
Reading an old novella by Ursula K. Le Guin, 'Dragonfly', in an anthology I picked up at a used book store and really enjoying it. Her stuff can be a little slow at times, but I don't think anybody in Fantasy can weave words together quite the way she does.
