For those bassists in Funk Bands, what pedals are you currently using? I fully understand and appreciate natural finger funk, I'm just curious what pedals my fellow bassists are using for Funk. Look forward to hearing from you all!

What are your Funk Pedals?

I'm in a funk-rock band right now. I think all kind of effects can be use for funk music, but always remembering to keep the groove.
But so, I use some dirty OD, modulations(tremolo and chorus a lot - Phasers are very funky too) and a Bass Whammy, but my "funkiest" pedals are Source Audio BEF, Multiwave Bass Distortion 2 and Digitech bass Synth Wah.
Those three can be widely used in most situations!

funk always call immediately for an envelope filter.
Tried many filters and the Aguilar Filter Twin is the one for me, lots of cool variations in that pedal!
Korg G5 and Ibanez AF-9 ...really handy for copping those Minimoog basslines that pervaded so much classic funk.
Hello. Though I am not in any band, funk is a central part of my musical playing, writing, and thinking (in reverse order).
All my pedals are my funk pedals. From saturation to time-based processing to filters and so on, it's all good for the funk.
Since the mid-1970s (excepting a some 12-year hiatus), I have practiced and studied applied signal processing, synthesis, and acoustical or mechanical sound creation and manipulation. I cannot now think of anything I wouldn't at least try to use to create something funky.
Right now I use either my Zoom B2 or Zoom 506II. Mainly use the octave and envelope filter/auto wah patches. Occasionally use a chorus or fretless effect.
I knew that was a given, I was just curious what other pedals people were using. Guess I should have said, "What Non-Envelop Filter pedals are you guys using?"
Any of you guys have/know a good Bass Synth pedal that doesn't take up half a pedal board? Something close to the size of an MXR pedal?
Zoom MS60B is my new fun and funky pedal, all the rest except for my favorite BassBalls are staying in the studio. Synth sounds are cool too.
Envelope filter (particularly the EHX Qballs), modulated filter (I like the simplicity of the Jacques Trinity Wah, where I can also combine envelope and LFO easily), phaser, and any good fuzz-filter combo. Octave sounds great in there, too, but I don't use it.
EDIT: The right up-sweep/down sweep envelope filter combo (for me, it's EHX Qballs + Jacques Trinity Wah or Multivox Big Jam Spit Wah) sounds very unique, vocal and FONKAY!!!

I used a Boss OC3---> Boss Metal Zone (really an unsung and nasty bass pedal- thanks Freekbass for hipping me over a decade ago)----> EHX Micro Q---> Ernie Ball Volume----> Aguilar TH pedal
I also have a newer Crybaby with several mods that will be getting a capacitor for bass usage.
Also in the market for a nice tap-tempo delay...
I'd love to pick up a 3leaf envelope (pref with an effects loops) or a Source Audio pedal with a wide variety of programmable options---> my EHX can be a little dangerous sometimes (always throttle back volume when kicking her in).
I also have a newer Crybaby with several mods that will be getting a capacitor for bass usage.

I'm with you on the Source Audio Pedals! I'm in a funk/hip hop band and the Manta, Orbital Modulator, and OFD pedals are my go to pedals. SA pedals have so many different options: the Orbital Mod has a phaser and resonator that I use, OFD has the fuzz, and the Manta has a ton of sounds!
I really dug on the EH bass microsynth for that late 70's/early 80's synth bass sound, my favorite 2 envelope filters were an older FX25 and an older, huge ass Qtron, here's my old board
I found the FX25 sounded best with a limiter after, so it ran through the LS2 with some clean blended in, that extreme peaks were too much!! I used the bass microsynth for that thriller/off the wall bass tone and the FX25 for everything from fat dub to flea-like funk, but using 3 pedals to get one sound is pretty overboard IMO!
Here's my current setup
I wish I would've kept a few of my older analog pedals for reference, but the SA manta sure comes close!! One channel is *close* to the sound I had with the microsynth but much more touch response, the other is similar to the fx25 but not as funky, so I gotta mess with them both some more. And the OC2 is a classic, I had the digitech drop and it was okay, but the OC2 just sounds so much better so long as I stay above A or Ab...
I have a feeling that with the SA multiwave would be easier to get that early 80's tone like "dont stop till you get enough" or "funkytown", its close with the manta though

I usually play clean finger style with support from my cali76 comp, but when I want to get synthy, I use a 3leaf GR2 + VFE Woodchipper
COMPRESSORS. Compressors are the tightest thing you can get. I also have the micropog, phase90, bass big muff pi, and a couple of envelope filters. But for the old school punchy stuff, I've found it's all about finding a good compression pedal.
