Had another California common and Belgian golden strong homebrew last night.

No beer tonight since I'll be doing an interval workout and I wake up with nasty hangovers.

I had three moslon ex tonight, after a 13oz of rum. For my defense, it's a fest and they sell what they sell.

The 13 oz was to make it more fun

So far for this fest I've seen: Bell & Sebastian, Born Ruffians, Peter and Peter, Louis-Jean Cormier, Odonis Odinis, PS I love you, Eagles of Death Metal and The Black Keys.

In the next few days I expect to see: Never more than less, Vovoid, Avantasia, Keith Kouna, Lisa Leblanc, Bernard Adamus, Passion Pit, MGMT, Weezer, Rush, Monster Truck, Skillet, Guns n' Roses, Foreigner, Def Leppard and Stevie Wonder.

I missed the last New Belgium sale by a day and am kicking myself.

I picked up a 6pack of Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager for $3.99 yesterday from Trader Joes.
Also had a Chocolate Stout and a Heavy Lift Vessel from Boatswain, $1.99 each also at Trader Joes.

Last night had a Signha Thai lager served with two Chu Chee curry and beef dishes.
The lager was smooth and refreshing, it was just enough to cool off the burn of the spicy Thai food. With the combined help of plenty of white rice, the beer kept the burn below my spice tolerance threshold so I could keep eating that hot stuff.

Founders Centennial IPA tonight.

Had that one a couple of weeks ago--very good. I was not thinking that Founders would live up to the hype, but every brew of theirs has been good.

Another thing is, I spent the weekend with my MIL. She always offers me drink because it's the only thing we have in common

Once you go IPA you never go back. I never thought I'd want the bitterness but now I can't get enough hops in my beer.

I disagree! (Who'd have thought we could do that?) Anyway, I try IPAs every few months because I know my tastes HAVE changed in the past. Still a definite no-go on the IPA. But hey, beer and music both have plenty of styles, and not everyone likes everything.

Right now? Oettinger Pils. Because it was $9 for a six pack from Safeway.

But I like craft beers, and brewing my own. Sometimes you just want to down a cheap six pack, though.

Oettinger? Haven't had that since Germany, and never seen it out of Germany! Anyone know where I might find some? No Safeways around here..
