What caffeinated beverage do you drink to start your day?

I used to get weird looks for my Red Bull at 8 am, but now I'm finding energy drinks in the early morning becoming more common and coffee less.

How do you start your day?

i voted iced coffee, but it isn't really iced, but it sure isn't hot either. i go for my own "nectar of the gods". a few months ago archaeology magazine published an article about the origins of chocolate. the researchers found residue on mayan pots that showed they made a chocolate and coffee beverage, most likely with ritual purposes and consumed by priests and/or wealthy. so i came up with one i make with: sugar and m&m's (put them in the mug). use the coffee to melt it all, stir well. double the volume with cold milk. yum.

Plunger coffee with milk and one sugar. Or if I'm not feeling the sugar, (very) strong tea with milk and no sugar.

I'll hammer down a couple of Red Bulls or cans of V when I'm driving for a few hours somewhere, otherwise I stay away from them because one can accounts something like 40% of your daily average sugar intake.

I stopped drinking diet soda and switched to coffee. I never was a coffee drinker until I had it with Bailey's and since I stopped drinking alcohol, I found the Bailey's non-alcohol coffee creamer works fine- I wasn't using Bailey's to catch a buzz, anyway. I tried some other chocolate machiado crap and it's OK, but not like Bailey's. I have had Cameron's coffees from a local grocery store chain and they're decent but I went to Alterra's, which is a local chain of coffee stores/cafes and bought some Nicaraguan blend. I had a sample that was black and it had the caramel flavor of a good dark beer-definitely more body than some 3 lb can of crap from a grocery store shelf. It's more $ but they donate $1 from every pound and I know the owners, so,.....
