The problem is that the word "selfish" carries huge negative connotations.
If you are truly unhappy in your marriage and your spouse refused to make changes that would make you happy why on earth would you stay? Why should someone go through life unhappy?
If your wife refused you your creative outlet what would you do?
On infidelity. I tend to think it's more a symptom than a cause. That is there probably was something seriously broken long before the affair(s) started.
I always hear stories of people getting married 6 months after they met each other, and then they get divorced like 2 yrs later because they just didn't get along with each other... and then there's stories of people being married for 20 years and then filing papers. What do you think is the cause for a divorce?
Some women erroneously think that marriage is the magic trick that will transform the man they love into the ideal husband.
Of course, men have their own unique ways of buggering up marriages and maybe we could get some women to post in this thread with their thoughts on that subject.![]()
No experience here, but I wonder why people get married at all. Is your word not enough when you want to make the commitment? Also, what do you all think about humans naturally not supposed to be together that long? I've heard some people say that love is stupid, naturally humans just have lust. That I don't understand at all and think it is stupid. Please excuse my naive-ness on the subject, I'm curious to hear what you all think!
