What did you learn today?

that I will spill coffee in my music room from time to time, in spite of self-imposed bans after each incident. Then senility and/or complacency sets in, I forget/relent and allow it in again until next time.

At least I drink it black, no soured milk smell or sugar to attract pests.

I learned that there are sunburst basses I like:

I'd have to take the pickguard off the jazz tho.

That my avatar of many, many years made someone "feel offended".

Now I'm a member of the "Question Mark People", a product of the invasion of the avatar snatchers.

No one was offended, it was against the rules. If you’ve had it for years and it was only just noticed, then congratulations for flying under the radar for that long. You don't have to remain without an avatar, you can upload anything that doesn't break the rules.

Two bees or not two bees: math's the question. The answer is zeroBees join an elite group of species that understands the concept of zero as a number :wacky:
When it comes to bees, it seems that nothing really does matter.

As shown in a African grey parrot published today, our research demonstrates that the honeybee can understand the quantitative value of nothing, and place zero in the correct position along a line of sequential numbers.

This is the first evidence showing that an insect brain can understand the concept of zero, and has implications for our understanding of how complex number processing evolved. More broadly, it may help us design better artificial intelligence solutions for operating in complex environments. …

… The honeybee now joins the elite few species which have demonstrated an understanding of zero to this advanced level. While African grey parrot, Invalid Link Removed, a single chimpanzee, and one Invalid Link Removed have demonstrated the ability to learn or spontaneously understand the concept of zero, this is the first time that such a high level of cognitive number processing has been observed in an insect.

alas, on the contrary, what troops and populations of Phantasms, not God-Veracities but Devil-Falsities, down to the very lowest stratum, — which now, by such superincumbent weight of Unveracities, lies enchanted in St. Ives’ Workhouses, broad enough, helpless enough!
