What did you learn today?

Is that a question?
i got the impression that skwee spent some time listening to Opera, and learned how better to grasp ' Italian baroque recitative'... I recognize the musical term 'recitative' as being Somehow operatic, but if you put a gun to my head, I couldn't tell you any more than that! :roflmao:

I learned that someone with WAAY more money than sense has apparently bankrolled a movie...AN ENTIRE THEATRICAL PRODUCTION!!! based on "Angry Birds"!
I used to catch my 3rd graders playing Angry Birds on the school computers and pads that they were supposed to be using for something/anything academic. They'd get all shy and BUSTED, and I'd typically just ask them to explain why the birds were so angry. That would usually put some wind back in their sails, and they would know that they had been redirected, without the acrimony.
The bad news: somebody is going to have to get up off a ten dollar bill to buy a seat to watch "Angry Birds"...and the odds are good that they'll have a kid or two in tow!
"There's a dumbazz born every minute" (or something like that!)... :rollno::roflmao:

I learned that for some reason I suddenly remember arbitrary things that I haven't thought about for decades.

Been noticing it more and more.

I'll think of a person, for example, and then realize that I haven't thought about that person for 25 years. And have no idea why I suddenly remembered them.
That happens to me, too, sometimes. Often in the morning, sometimes it's a song I haven't heard in decades.

I was just looking to Dr. Karl's archive because I'm almost certain he's responsible for giving me the wood on microwaving wooden cutting-boards. I haven't got to the bottom of that yet. But, as is always the case, something else works itself into the adventure and who am I to deflect it, learning all the while? So, I learnt, just then, a little more about how the US lost her height advantage. Why did the US lose the height advantage?

[edit] Here's some more support for the 'nuking your cutting-board' accord - Invalid Link Removed .

For the record, we scrub first with hot water and dish-washing liquid, then with hot water only, and we only give it two minutes on high - it comes out piping-hot and dry. I've been doing this for over twelve years with the same board. I also do our wooden spoons the same way but for only one minute.

I learned some (important) stuff about chicken feed...about which types of feed best serve our chickens as they navigate chicken-pubesence...
Really...
