What did you learn today?

An ancient indigenous rock shelter rewrites Australia's human history. Not easy to do - literate rock shelters are few and far between ;) We've believed this for at least three decades. More details are emerging, Ilt.

[…]the latest genetic evidence indicates that humans moved out of Africa about 72,000 years ago — although there is archaeological evidence they may have been in the Near East 110,000 years ago.

"It means that within several thousand years, Homo sapiens were in Australia," Dr Westaway said.

"That's a very rapid expansion across the globe."

Once they moved out of Africa, Homo sapiens bred with Neanderthals and Denisovans before moving into South-East Asia then into the supercontinent of Sahul — what is now New Guinea and Australia.

The new dates also indicate modern humans lived in the same region as the ancient, now extinct, Homo floresiensis aka 'the hobbit', for at least 15,000 years.

Yowtch! You have my sympathies. I took some stuff called D-Mannose when I was having trouble like that.

Thanks. Alas, way past that point by the time it blew up. Went from "huh, am I peeing more than usual?" to "that is NOT supposed to be that color" in an hour. Insurance nurse told me to get to the ER, and by the time I was seen an hour later I was teeth chattering bone aching miserable.

While I'm not thrilled about the second course of antibiotics in a month, I'll say that even the first dose knocked this down very quickly.

I truly feel for you. I've had similar issues. Glad you're feeling better, though.

The stuff I took, D Mannose, actually has cranberry extract dried up in it. Some people swear by it. But if you got it whipped, you got it whipped.

I am doing all that and don't got it whipped. Going to the doc in a couple of hours. Feel three megacraptons worse than I did a couple of days ago, with some new symptoms that are a tad concerning. Wish me luck.
