I think you’re ok with being a jerk in your head. Don’t beat yourself up.
I woke up this morning hoping to be offended by some jerk so I could show some righteous indignation. Reading that you were a jerk in your head did nothing to help me in my quest, yes, it has now become a quest. I guess I shall have to search for an offensive soap commercial, or, possibly, venture out into the real world in search of a jerk. In my last foray into the untamed vastness of this town, I was in such a great mood that everyone I encountered seemed to be in a good mood and no jerks were to be found.
I learned I'm still apparently quite sore about my management team destroying my career a few years back. (Yeah, I had a hand in it too, but the way things were going, it was either this or an early death by stroke or heart attack, so guess I'll take this.) Just trying to ride it out until 65 now, not sure I'll be able to put up with the

Which is part of the reason why I was not happy with myself for being a jerk, even in my head. Yeah, the person who I was outwardly smiling at had made my life far more difficult than it needed to be. I was peeved at his lack of response to email communication, inability to XYZ, lack of foresight to ABC, lateness... and guess what, I don't know what went on in his life that morning. Maybe his water heater blew up, or his gerbil died, or he left his coffee mug on the top of his car, or got yogurt on his freshly-pressed shirt.
In the windup, guess how much of it matters. Zip.

My old '80s TEAC cassette tapes, which I used to record my 4-track sessions, sound every bit as good as they did back then. But I can hear signs of degradation with my old Maxell 4-track tapes, which are not quite as old as the TEACs. I only started buying Maxells because I couldn't keep finding TEACs, and that was long before you could order anything you want on the internet. They were a boutique kind of tape, and unused, sealed ones go for insane prices today.
There really is a quality difference in cassette tapes. Those TEACs are for real.

I learned that the cover songs I play on bass at the recorded tempos are WAY more difficult to play cleanly and with panache on the drums.
I learned that i can use the LB100, apogee jam, and garage band to make pretty impressive recordings in my house
