I deal with the same type of thing where I work. We are getting rid of paper and working mostly with PDF's. It astounds me how some people fight it every inch of the way.Today I learned that for the last 20 or so years, someone I work with has been wasting what amounts to thousands of hours because they didn't know an Excel spreadsheet could be sorted. Everyone has accepted that the way she's been doing it is the only way. When she's been on vacation, others did it based on her instructions. Now I'm doing it cuz she's going away and for the first time in decades, it's been realized that she's been doing it like a moron. I don't even know if I should say anything.
I didn't know that, and I always thought the solution was burritos.
I recently learned my company is paperless. We tell prospective customers that we're paperless. We go through about 50 boxes of paper a week. 500 reams. A week. But we're paperless.I deal with the same type of thing where I work. We are getting rid of paper and working mostly with PDF's. It astounds me how some people fight it every inch of the way.
I suggest writing new instructions and passing them out without comment.Today I learned that for the last 20 or so years, someone I work with has been wasting what amounts to thousands of hours because they didn't know an Excel spreadsheet could be sorted. We really are doing it. The printer on my desk is lonely.I recently learned my company is paperless. We tell prospective customers that we're paperless. We go through about 50 boxes of paper a week. 500 reams. A week. But we're paperless.

I've worked office jobs for the last 15 years or so and have met at least 50 people who did that.I've seen worse. People who need a calculator to add up the numbers on the spreadsheet...
Something about this last page or two reminds me of a Seinfeld episode...
"The jerk store called, and they're all out of YOU!" Ahh, you gotta love George Costanza. And we all know somebody just like him.![]()
I learned that the cover songs I play on bass at the recorded tempos are WAY more difficult to play cleanly and with panache on the drums.
I also had an assistant who used tabs to align margins. Don't edit the document or it doesn't work.I've worked office jobs for the last 15 years or so and have met at least 50 people who did that.
