What do you Eat before gig

When I gigged I just tried to make sure I didn’t drink too much before we went on, eating was never an issue because on non gig nights I don’t eat anything after 7 and I’ll be up til 1 or 2 most nights. I’d eat a decent dinner about 7, and keep a snack like a granola bar or some cookies to munch on the drive home.

I for one do not like to go onstage full. I like to eat 2 or 3 hours before I play. I’m trying to eat less carbs these days but is good to carbs before a gig? What is your experience?

Depends on when the gig is. Over the last two years I’ve played gigs that have started anywhere from 10:00am to 11:00pm... Pretty much I eat my usual food at usual times give or take when I need to be onstage. Which would be coffee in the am, a sandwich in the mid afternoon, in evening, a salad, and some lean protein, and a good honey crisp apple for a snack somewhere along the way.

I usually get some boneless hot wings and make sure my drummer sees me eating them........I mean he's pretty much trapped behind the drums and a lot of the stages we play are small........haha!! This way if he hits the cymbal that is right next to my ear all night rather than the other 67 that don't seem to get hit as often, I can retaliate

I try to eat something an hour or two before a gig.

Man, that one time I got food poisoning from chili I ate at a gig... barely made it home after the show in time for the fun to begin...

I play at church on Sundays, and when I wake up in the morning my stomach can't handle food most of the time. I'll drink one of those Carnation Breakfast Essentials powder packets mixed into a glass of milk, and that holds me over without any problems.
