What do you know about Avatar bass cabinets

I owned two Avatar Neo cabs. Dave at Avatar is a solid guy and make very good cabinets for the price. I found the cabs to do the job live, but for recording I wanted something...different.

You'd be hard pressed to find better Neo cabs for the cost, but there are in my opinion superior cabs available, but of course you're going to pay more for them: 1) Epifani UL410 or 2) Bergantino AE410 come to mind. I find the Bergie to be very "true" and uncolored - great for jazz / acoustic settings. The Epi's have a bit of color, but handle the bottom end better and they are my speaker cabs of choice for rock and metal.

Ok today is decision day on the purchase ! Two last questions in your honest opinion. Im looking at getting two b410 neo 8ohm cabs , I play mainly hard rock and metal music are these good for this type of music or they more for jazz / funk ? Question 2 will these cabs pair nicely with my ampeg svt cl head and/or my hartke lh 1000 ? Thanks for all your info and this has been a fun thread.

Dave IS da man - he truly cares about what he does, and is interested in his customer base. I bought a couple empty single 12 cabs (they no longer make) a number of years ago called cube cabs, that were conceived as a guitar cab. With assistance from an Eminence tech and and a tech from US Speaker, was able to install the right speakers, tuned rear ports, and insulation for the job. The resulting cabs were always raved about by players and audience, alike. Dave and I talked each other's ears off after my completion of them. He wanted to hear every detail. He cares - makes great gear for a great price - and is always happy to receive the deserved kudos on what he's dedicated himself to. What more could one ask

Ok I told you earlier I ordered a B410 neo 8ohm to be exact with plans in the future to buy a second cab of the same, well I was talking to an a fellow local bassist that stated qoute "They're only 16" deep and don't project any lows". Well I told him I'll have to find out for myself cause it's on order and from all the great feedback I've heard on this forum no one has mentioned the depth of the cabs . What is your take on this ???? Please make me feel better about my purchase. :crying:

Their 4x10 cabs have plenty of lows. He either didn't know what he was doing or he is just passing on bad 2nd hand info. Avatar is doing quite well for a reason - and it ain't because their 4x10s can't handle lows. The 2x10's are their biggest sellings, so that should tell you something.

I recently bought a b210 and t153 15" cab with the 6"mid, both 8 ohm, from Avatar, and i absolutely love them. talk about rumbling the walls. i'm running a ampeg SVT 7 pro through them and believe you me, they can handle all of the 1000 watts at 4 ohm. i primarily play a fender american jazz deluxe V string through it, and the low B is sickning, i also play a 4 string ibanez SG through it.

One of my guitarist who use to always tell me to turn up, is now telling me i'm rumbling his fillings loose. the quality is great, nice and sturdy, i got them both with the linex and metal grill, they look great and you talk about road worthy, you could take a hammer to these things. but most importantly the tone is the real deal. low's are booming, mids are nice and warm, yet clear, and the highs will cut through any mix, i also like the fact you can adjust the horn volume.

to anybody interested in purchasing an avatar cab, i urge you to do so, for the price you simply can't beat the product, and it's true about Dave, he's a first rate businessman and will take care of you.

That's my main rig since I got my GB a year ago. The 210 setup is perfect for small gigs and practice and the 410 is great for medium sized to moderately large gigs. I have awesome FOH support, so it's really just a monitor for me, but it's plenty loud and the GB really makes the Eminence speakers shine.

Please don't take this the wrong way because it's not wholly aimed at your post because I see it all the time and it's what what keeps the 'cheap' stigma attached to this brand but I personally just don't see the need to always qualify Avatar product with things like "for the price" or "for the cost". One can name all the boutique cabs they like with their perceived magical sonic properties. They are certainly good, yes, but in no way to the degree that is often implied. In most situations they are equal in every way. It's just plain good stuff and in some ways far better than much of the big name, mass produced stuff. And, again, just try to get the level of customer service from those folks. Probably not happening. Different is one thing, certainly a matter or personal preference. But, better? If at all it's not by much IMHO.

What a genius. So, just what is the magical cabinet 'depth' that will project the lows we all crave so much? The simplistic ignorance of that statement is profound.

Well heres something I noticed the Goliath III is 18.375 in depth and the Avatar is 16.5 depth.. so two inches will kill it . IDK but maybe he tried one that didn't have x max drivers dont know really but you guys are making me feel better for sure. just cant wait to get it and do my own review
