What do you like more? Rackmount or pedal tuner?

I use a Korg Pitchblack and it works perfectly. If I were in the market for one right now, tho, I'd probably get the Turbo Tuner instead.

i keep my tuner racked very high. right behind my sideburns.

i used my guitarists amp to tune before the first song (we all did, so we were all in tune and in tune together), and it never went OUT of tune during the set. if it did, it only took me about 10 seconds to tune it back up.

once ive got a reference pitch.. normally G because its the easiest to hear, i tune manually. even B, id rather do it myself.

You know what? I've actually figured out the display on the CA-30 where I can tell if it's dead accurate or just CA-30 accurate. There's a center range where it can read normal but be just a little bit off, but if you know how wide that range is, you can find the center.

I have a Korg DTR-1 that I no longer use anymore. I found it was a great tuner, but I pulled my old preamp out and put in an Avalon VT-737sp preamp which does not have a tuner-out. Rather than run my bass through that into the preamp, I opted instead to get a Peterson Stobostomp II, which is also an incredible tuner. One nice thing about this that the Korg didn't offer was you can mute by simply stepping on the pedal. I love this thing!

Well, I've had a couple weeks with my new Sonic Research Turbo Tuner ST-200. I must say I'm very happy and really impressed. My direct comparison is with my Sabine rackmount and Audiophonics Computer program tuner. I can really fine tune my tuning. It seems with the Turbo where I would normally stop and call it good with the Sabine and can keep fine tuning with the Turbo.

It's a keeper.

welp, I ended up with the Korg PitchBlack tuner pedal. I wanted the turbo tuner more, but didn't want to cough up the funds. But playing with this one, I feel I made a good choice. Its not as responsive but still does a great job with accuracy, as well as ease of use (reading the screen from standing up for instance). I just have my tuner output into the input and use the tuner mute button on my amp's pedalboard.

Although I have been a proponent of a pedal tuner for a long time, I've found myself in a situation where a racked tuner (Korg DTR-1000, in my case) makes more sense in my setup. I'm actually to the point of no pedalboard at all eek:) for most of our gigs.

-easy enough to see across a lit or dark room
