What does your personal practice space look like?

I am always trying to upgrade my personal practice space. I look at shelves, furniture, gear, recording area, even whether or not to have rugs/carpets. I want it to be cool and inviting. Like a music sanctuary. I am interested to see how well Bassists set themselves up.

Bonus room over the garage. Surrounded by gear. Couple ceiling fans with lights. Some low voltage halogen spots on tracks for accent pieces. Table for a computer. Big recliner. Flat screen on the wall above the table so I can blow up what's on the computer screen. Sealed very well so I can play stupid loud and my sleeping kids can't hear a sound. Nice stereo with speakers in the walls.

It's a good music hangout.

just for the cool factor and inspiration......this is my ceiling. All the LPs I bought as a youth.

I have amps in three rooms, none are dedicated to practice. One is in the bedroom one is in my home office and one is in the basement.

Den is the primary for extended weekend practice that's not at neighbor disturbing volumes. Bedroom is for tooling around before retiring for the evening. Basement is for shaking the walls without disturbing the peace.

2 bedroom apartment, with girlfriend and toddler....

I have my iPad, irig, bass, and headphones on a desk. I have to stash it all away when I'm done.

I have other gear and my upright. You can use your imagination as to what my space looks like.

We practice in a garage that's been converted to a studio. A few local bands pay for time there so we don't leave our gear there. It's cheaper than a storage unit, plus it's got AC, heat, and we get access to PA, a full recording setup, all the mics and mic cables and so on. The ability to record demos while writing has been great. All of us live in areas where the cops would shut us down so other than getting together with acoustics it's pretty much our cheapest option right now.
