What effect do you run on all the time?

New to FX.

I have a sonic maximizer at the end of my “small” pedal chain that I leave on all the time. I started looking at envelope filters and like the Aguilar. I could get addicted to this pedal. It seemed to fatten the tone nicely but not too much when dialed in low.

is there an effect you leave on too much?
I constantly run a Digitech SC-2 Valve Distortion for some overdrive.

I run a compressor all time, and one of the channels of my SansAmp Bass Driver DI......have an envelop follower, chorus, and Fulltone Bass Drive that I use on specific songs and/or occasions within a song.

I like chorus, probably too much. I keep playing with it through a high pass so it doesn't muddy up my sound, but... too much chorus is never enough.
I also run a bit of compression, but it's doing its job and all is well.

I don't always use compression, but when I do, it's always on. (I use gentle compression at 10% of my gigs, typically when I'm not using overdrive).

With my hard rock band I usually have a low-gain overdrive on all the time, and kick in a second overdrive for heavier songs.

P.S. I don't think I use any effect too much. All I ever use is OD and comp, nothing else. I use gentle compression, and only kick in heavy OD when appropriate.

If this was the "basses" forum : The only thing you need to turn on all the time is technique.

That's a joke.

Anyway, compression is what I use all the time. I have it built into my SVT-4 so I just use that.

Rarely, chorus, distortion, and an envelope filter.

I run 2 channels through an A/B/Y box....one channel is always running my Alter Ego Damnation (doom distortion), bass Big Muff Pi, Digitech bass multi chorus and digital delay. The other channel is clean with a touch of gain...though I'm thinking of adding a Ghost Echo to the clean channel for a smidge of reverb.
