What gave you serious G.A.S recently?

I have no idea why, but I am seriously GASsing for a hollowbody bass. Nothing expensive, just a Dean Cabbie or an Ibanez Artcore or something in that range.

I mainly play metal and Top 40, but a hollowbody is something that looks like it could be fun to play every once in a while.

I just came back from the GC vintage department in Hollywood. They have a '66 jazz bass strung with what appears to be flatwound strings from the same year, totally dead and thuddy. Ashtrays, block inlays, clean, really nice. I usually play scales when I first try a bass out, but this bass laughed at my scales and FORCED me to create a sticky reggae bass line on the spot. I had no control!

Now all I need to do is come up with the $8500 to pay for it.

I took a look at a nice 80's Alpine White PJ Style Yamaha and also A Spector Euro Series (god those are wonderful).

Actually, I came to this thread to post the pic below and confess to my current state of GASsiness for it, but now ... it seems in rather poor taste .

The green one, owned by TBer 69limeRev. Lord only knows what I'd do to get my greedy mitts on it.
