ST SS-5 FTW.
I'm actually GAS'ing hard for a complete custom order version of this by me. ST SS-6, swamp ash body maple neck birdseye maple fb, white blocks, WHITE painted body with blue/black pinstripes, nordstrand dual coil pickups, and an aguilar obp-3 preamp.
Oh GAS. Oh GAS indeed.

Yeah... th e idea came from the "Inverted bass pics" cause that's what mine looks like almost inverted. It's pretty sweet.
Not to be a knob.... BUT...... I pulled out my Geddy tonight, slapped some new Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys on it, and slapped my ass off.
I was amazed at how much easier the Geddy Jazz is to play than any of my other (too many) basses. To the point that I am going back to 4 strings with my classic rock/top 40 band (I always have used 5ers).
I had my full rig tonight and played all of my good basses (Lakland, 2 Fender 5ers, Bongo 5, MIM P, 1974 P and a couple of others) and the Geddy was the best for slap and did ok on the heavier stuff (Lips of an Angel, Higher Ground, Hump da Bump, Hush, etc.).
I really think this is the best non MIA bass that I have ever played. *
* Disclaimer: I have very little experience with Spector and other European made basses that are apparently amazing.
Avalon U5 direct box. I switch between upright and electric regularly at the gig. Fastest way to re-dial the sound/gain differences between the two axes. All the FOH engineers I work with love me
