I'm currently playing in a traditional and post tradition Irish music band. We mix it up with some contemporary pop. But mostly Irish-Scots oriented tunes. The band has quite the following and no shortage of places to gig.

Personally, I just put on a Sirius/XM channel of Country, 50's, 60's, 70's pop, New Wave, or Soul Town, and just play along to whatever song comes up next. I call this recreational playing. If I have things I have to know for the band, then of course, I'll work on that.

The recreational playing is the escape and the search for new ideas. When I really enjoy a song or get smoked and can't cop it on the initial pass, I'll YouTube it and work it some more.

Choosing more than one genre is allowed, so the totals are bound to go over 100%.

It is fine to choose more than one, but the total of the percentages are supposed to 100%.
It's a formula not working properly.
It should be genre votes/ total votes = % who voted for that genre.
If each of them are done this way, the total votes would be 100% (or very close)

It's showing the percentage of people who voted that voted for each genre. If four people vote, and only one of them votes for jazz, then it will show 25% for jazz. However, more than one choice is allowed. So if all four of those people also voted for rock, then it will show 100% for rock alongside the 25% for jazz.

Mostly rock, mostly love originals, yes I write a bit, love rock-pop covers done 'em for decades, like harder rock but not thrash nor speedcore so much; can do country - it's OK - prefer classic and Buck Owens; love R&B and dance; done a bunch of punk but meh - like the spirit tho; love funk - can slap some; like fusion and prog - and have been in a couple of really fun original projects; LOVE jazz especially hot big band (Woody, Stan) and bebop and anyting Billie, Ben, and Bill Evans and Golson. ☮
