What Guitars are your Guitarist using?

My guitarist is a strat guy. He has 3 MIJ strats.

1- All origional black with maple board
2- Gold hackjob refinish bought used with origional electronics and a maple board
3- beat up lake placid blue with a mint pickgaurd and Gibson's Ceramic pickups and wired for two volumes and two tones.

He runs that through a 100 Watt JCM 900 and an old Fender 2-15 cab.

He doesnt stand a chance with that rig next to these:

Im playing mostly guitar in my gigging band these days and thats part of my rig. Its a Gibson Explorer modded with beer box pickgaurd and a Stetsbar trem system that requieres absolutely no modification to the guitar's body. The amp is a pre-77 (LOUD LOUD LOUD) Ampeg V4. Not shown are my Mesa Boogie Roadking 4x12 cab and '72 Tele DLX Reissue. I also use a few pedals, mainly a Pro-Co Rat, Line 6 DL4, Snarling Dogs Whine-O-Wah, a Boss CEB3, MXR Phase 90, and Ernie Ball Volume Pedal.

One guitarist - old G&L ASAT, autographed by Leo, low E-string removed and tuned like Keith Richards, and an American Strat.

Other guitarist - double cutaway Les Paul.

Guitarist 2 - Peavey something, black with rosewood board, twin dual humbuckers. Plays thru a Marshall head, Crate 4x10" bottom.

Both have played my pos Hondo EVH Strat copy (black w/yellow stripes, maple board) when they've snapped a string on stage & needed a backup guitar.

As is plainly obvious, I know nowt about them, except that they're both active, use EMGs and sound absolutely savage. (That's a good thing).

My one guitar, a Kramer, indeed has a dual coil humbucker at the bridge. All pickups are switchable between single and dual coil, and that includes the 'humbucker' at the bridge.

Maybe that's what he's talking about.

The guitarist I jam with has an Epiphone Explorer in flat black, and an Epiphone SG that he runs through an Ibanez half-stack. He also has an acoustic and a classical guitar from some company, I forgot what it was. Both are very nice though.

Since I 'outed' myself as a guitar player here a while ago, I can say I am playing a black '91 Ibanez RG570 (rosewood). I've changed out the humbuckers, but otherwise it's clean and plays quite well. With the Floyd Trem, its a bit high maintainence during string changes.

My other is a surf green '99 MIM '57 Classic stratocaster with the 'v' neck. I had a local guitar tech smooth the frets, shield the electronics, and re-dip the pickups. It is a much nicer guitar now. Neither is a favorite, they both have their moments.

I am keepin' the 2002 MIA P-Bass. I love that thing.

Peavey Tiger Eye something or other. Not sure about the acoustic. The synth player also plays an acoustic which I believe is a Tacoma with built-in electronics. When I play with my daughter she uses either a Squier Strat or a Yamaha acoustic.

I get that a humbucker has dual coils. But he didn't say dual coil humbuckers. He said dual humbuckers, so that's a pair of two-coil pickups, or a four-coiled pickup, or a confused post.

I guessed a confused post, but I tried for clarification.
