Not all Pacificas suck. THere are good ones. I think it's funny that the probably best guitar in the band is owned by the guy that doesn't utilize it.

One of them has a MIM artic white strat and a black LTd kirk hammet signature .

The other has a sunburst older MIM strat and a cheap first act guitar that sounds like crap .

Before our lineup stabilized, there were two other guitarists playing with us. One of them had a Pacifica. Both of the other two guitarists played it and said it was pretty nice, especially for the money.

Maybe he just got lucky and got one of the good ones?

Explain dual humbuckers. Four coils? What makes them dual ?

Their guitars have more toggle switches on them than should be allowed. When I asked why, "dual humbucker" was the explanation I was given.

Sounded good to me. Whether or not it's true I dont know, I'm only a Bass player.

Wel, when you have a pair of two coil pickups, like on a PRS or a Les Paul, That is a dual humbucker guitar. My complaint was at the description of each individual humbucking pickup as two humbucking pickups.

Both of my guitarists have Jackson DK2s - one has an Orange and Blue Flame w/ black hardware and DiMarzio PAF Pro bridge humbucker, the other Black w/ chrome and a Duncan JB @ bridge. In addition, one of them recently got an American Strat with:

Non-original all-maple neck
Floyd Rose-compensated nut system
Seymour Duncan (?) EVH bridge humbucker
Fender single coil @ neck
Original Floyd Rose tremolo
Natural ash body
Black hardware

My guitarist uses an American Standard strat w/ maple neck/FB and he has an american double fat strat with a maple neck and a rosewood FB

Our lead plays a Yamaha Pacifica and our rythm plays a gibson though i don't know anything more about it.

The band I play with most uses the following
Rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist = Ovation 12 string
First lead = 1986 Paul Reed Smith or 1962 Flying V
Second lead and rhythm owns a guitar shop so they vary. Recently he has used a Gretsch 6120, a Hamer Artist Korina, a Paul Reed Smith semi-hollow, a 1960 Strat and a Zion 99 Special with Joe Barden pickups. I want the Gretsch, but I don't have $3K laying around. If I did it would go to an Aguilar DB750 instead of the Gretsch.

We play in a variety of tunings, so our guitarist always brings at least three guitars.

- 1st Jackson (E tuning) - I'm not sure if this is a Soloist or not. It has a snakeskin finish and two humbuckers.

- 2nd Jackson (E tuning) - I'm pretty sure that this is a Soloist. He hasn't brought it to a gig since last summer. It has a burst finish and stacked humbuckers.

- 1st Charvel (Tuned a whole step down) - Again, I'm not sure of the model. It only has a single humbucker in the bridge position. We do a Motley Crue medley, so he uses this guitar to play in the wierd D tuning that Mick Mars uses.

- 2nd Charvel (E Tuning) - I've only seen this guitar once. He needs to replace the pots in it. It has one of those psuedo-cracked rock finishes. As you can tell by the Jacksons and Charvels, our guitarist is a product of the 80s. I keep telling him that all he needs now is a Kramer.

- Schecter C-1+ (Drop D Tuning) - Sunburst finish with two humbuckers. I've been very impressed with Schecter's guitars and basses.

- Schecter C-1 Diamon Series (Drop C# Tuning) - This one's black with two diamond inlays going up both sides of the fretboard.

His rig:

- Two of the older Mesa/Boogie 2x12 cabinets (back when Boogie's cabs were black)

- Sansamp preamp

- Mesa 2:90 power amp

- Digitech effects

- Rocktron EQ

- Rocktron Hush noise-gate (This thing's ruined me for all other guitarists. I cannot stand a noisy guitar rig! Our guitarist has the most quiet rig I've ever heard, even when he's using a lot of gain)

- Furman Conditioner

The guitarrist who played the MIM Tele has pretty much switched over to playing a Gibson Traveling Songwriter exclusively.

The one with the Lowden brought his carbon fiber Rainsong to practice last night.

You never know what to exepect.

2) a BC Rich Beast (with green bevels) tuned to D

3) a 7 string Jackson - standard tuning

4) a 7 string Washburn - tuned to A

the other one, haha, has a suzuki? les paul wannabe. it doesn't soudn too bad but its jsut halarious. I have a suzuki too but its a dirtbike, lol.

Right now my guitarist uses a Big Baby Taylor, which suprisingly sounds really good. He is thinking about getting either a Taylor 714 or a Northwood with a Venetian cutaway.
