Actually, the average Wishbass these days sells for $300, since the economy tanked. This one cost about $250 new back in the day. Of course it didn't look like this out of the shop, but after some time in mine, it does ... And yes, some Wishbasess ARE ugly, but hey, I own a Honda Element too!

@49sfine LOL @ Honda Element & Wishbass comparison. I'm a Honda (CR-V) owner. I honestly never understood the Element. My hat is off to those who enjoy it. As for Wishbass, I actually like his stuff (Hipper 7 is my favorite), but I'm a little hestitant to go for it because I'm not very handy with tools, etc. I don't know if I can complete the necessary finishing touches required by the Wishbass.

If I want a full custom bass (meaning I get to pick body shape, woods used, color of the finish, shape of the neck, number of strings, everything), I expect to pay about $4000-$5000.

Makes you wonder why people would spend so many tens of dollars on an SX when they could have bought this that does essentially the same thing. That's to say nothing of what folks spend on DBs.
