I'd like to see more Dinky J, as well as Reverse Explorers, both adjusted to better fit 5 string necks. One thing that peeves me to no end is manufacturers simply widening the body to accommodate the 5th string (I'm looking at you, Fender).
Rockingedit: And OPBass reminded me: Mockingbirds. Can't get enough.

I rather like the look of some of the Hamer bass guitars that Tom Petersson plays. The type with the nearly symmetrical body and the very sleek, modern headstock. Very nice.

Something along these lines, for example:

On guitar I'm partial to jazzmasters/jaguars, sgs, and teles and would like to see more basses with those bodies in general. Also part of the body is the pickguard, for some reason I just never found pickguards on the EB bass as cool as the SG. Also I love those old thick hollow bodies on guitar and bass.

Megan Fox. :hiding:

Oh....you mean....bass.......ha....ha...haha....

Rickenbacker w/o a doubt. Acquired taste, I admit, but for a prog guy it's the best. I love the relative craziness, without going B.C. Rich stupid looking. (Not trying to troll, just my opinion on weird metal basses. For a metal guy, they probably look like a ric does to me.)
