She is also a budding drummer. She spend two hours sitting on my shoulders watching Neil play. My lower back is still unhappy about that....

It's an interesting catalog, any such body of work where you can follow the growth and progression of the same group of musicians as they grow older and express their experiences in life is a special treat.
No love for Caress of Steel?
Bastille Day - a brilliant, almost Zep like blaster of a track
I Think I'm Going Bald - A nice show of their sense of humour, with a serious message about maturity if you listen a little more closely
The Necromancer - Dark, evil and surprisingly heavy. It's like a longer Witch Hunt.
and then, the best song Rush ever recorder, in my mind:
THE FOUNTAIN OF LAMNETH!!!111!!!111! Simply brilliant, 19 minutes of techncial mastery, beautiful storytelling and a sonic landscape rivalled by only very few songs.
So yeah, I like this album a lot.![]()

I like that album (well, I do like all Rush material from the 70s) but I honestly think it's too flawed to be a masterpiece. C'mon, the narration on The Necromancer? And the annoying (IMO, of course) repetition at No One At the Bridge? And Bastille Day is the only Rush track that sounds like crap on the studio but sounds divine live (listen to it on Different Stages disc 3).
Just saw them Friday night in Irvine and all I have to say is I've never heard them sound as good.
My favs:
2112
moving pix
hemispheres
signals
permanent waves
The two new songs B2UB and Caravan are really good songs. Cant wait for the new album.![]()
