Previously a Fender Modern Player Jazz (2011 spec), I just moved over to a Sire P7 (IMO it is much better!). I used to spend a lot of time on modern, active basses (Ibanez SRs and BTBs notably), but the Fender and the Sire (which I run passive) have seen me move back to a more classic style and sound.

Easy choice for me - my 2007 Stingray 5HH honeyburst. FWIW, I do love my L-2500 also even though the Stingray is clearly "the one". So here's a picture of my Stingray with my L-2500 hiding behind it as if to say, "I know the Stingray is the star and I'm on the bench, but I'm ready when you need me to go in, coach!". It's a GREAT "sixth man"!

In my current band it's a Stingray, it's a 2000s emo/pop-punk cover band so I wanted more of an aggressive sound.

In my old top 40s cover band it was an Ibanez SR2605, as I could get any tone I wanted, light, and very comfortable to play.

For “corporate” type gigs and private events, it’s my Alembic 5-string.

For bar gigs and outdoor events it’s my Fender American Deluxe P5.

In both situations, my 1979 sunburst Music Man Sabre is usually riding shotgun.

Gretsch Junior Jet short scale. Arthritis in L. thumb so retired my 34" bass. The Gretsch is perfect - doesn't stress the thumb. Great slim neck.

I voted p bass (Warmoth and a Peavey Fury) and Stingray 5H. I actually have a Fender Jazz too, but I use the Warmoth P and Ray the most these days.

I voted other: current main (despite having a few fancier basses) is my NS-Designs Radius WAV4. Not sure why, but that bass really just speaks to me.

Believe it or not, the one that consistently ends up getting used is an SX P-Bass copy, bought new in 2009 ($99). The thing did need some work (Dimarzio pickup, fret leveling, new pots, cap and jack), but the neck is chunky (which I love), the body is resonant, and it sounds and plays 100% evenly from top to bottom. I use it for everything from bar gigs to high profile concerts. I use DR Pure Blues strings on it.
The next-in-line is a 2002 MIM Fender Jazz Bass, bought new in 2003. Completely stock, except for the series/parallel mod. I use D'Addario Chromes on it.
I have several other basses, but these two always seem to rise to the top.
