What kind of strings do you use?

I use D'Addario Chromes flats on my Rickenbacker C64 and V63. I use DR nickel Lo-Riders on my Rick 4003, and OLP/ Music Man SR basses. I love the feel of flats and the Chromes sound the best on the Ricks IMHO. The DR's last, and are smooth for rounds and are easy on the frets, and sound good too.

I use:
- EB 6 String Bass 20 - 90s on my Jaguar. These were designed for the MM Silhouette Bass and work/play perfectly on my Jag.
- DM Blue Steel 40 - 95s on my Mustang. DMs are pretty stiff strings, but with low tension they play nice. My 18V EMG PUs make up for any potential loss in SNR.
- EB Power 55 - 110 on my Jazz, drop tuned to BEAD. It's a Mexican Jazz and it has a particularly bad attitude about clean tone. However, it does rock hard. Once again, 18V EMGs make up for any potential SNR probs.

I could hardly change back now. They feel so good to play.

Another thing is that I had a definate, serious low-B problem on my not-high-end bass (MIA Peavey Foundation5 passive - 33"-scale) - I mean horrendous sound; like a 'wolftone' on every fret of the string; it was fairly-worthless.

No-shinola, people: The Jazz Flats completely solved it. My low-B sounds great now. I'd been through like three or four different kinds of rounds before I tried these - it wasn't just a 'bad B'.

..So two sets of TIs - at $70 a set - cost me more than the bass did...

I use roundwouds on my precision, but flatwound on my fretless, but if the majority of people play fretted, a lot more people will play using roundwounds! LaBella are amongst the best

D'Addario's are pretty cheap as far as strings go which is good because I like then. I have been using the XL 165's. Musicians Friend has them on sale two sets for $24.99.

I've got Elixir Nanoweb Mediums on my frankenstein bass and GHS Boomers on my Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass, though I have a set of D'Addario chromes to put on once I replace the Boomers. I use D'Addario chrome 12's on my Strat and love the feel and sound from them, so I thought I'd try them out.

Currently Musicians Friend brand . Cheapest price strings I've ever seen .They were about 8 dollars for 4 string bass . They seem good to me .

Eh.... new to the way of the bass. But i have what came on my Squire P-bass and just got some "Fatty" electric bass strings (.045, .065, .080, .105) long-scale/Nickel-Plated Steel made by Knucklehead Strings.

Anyone know if Knucklehead strings sound nice?

Haven't had the chance to try them.

I really hate Nickel in any string, they give off a really bright Tin like sound that makes me feel just sad. To bright for me.
