What pedal(s) are you using for dirt?

I have 2 Muffs, B3K and Digitech bass driver.

I use the muffs in all kinds of combinations, like my favorite, black russian muff, octave and B3K. Damn what a tone!

B3K is on like 90% of all my playing, and is my favorite single pedal.

I don't actually know why did i bought the bass driver... I have used it very little, maybe 2 hours in the past ½ years?

Im only using a Fuzzrocious Dark Driving at the moment, as it pwned my EHX big muff off my board and right into the pawn shop. Sounds gnarly, still pondering what my fuzz purchase will be. The TAFM calls me but there are a few to consider.

Right now i'm using a Boss ODB-3 into my Black Russian Big Muff but was wondering how it would sound with either another big muff or an double muff going into it instead of the ODB-3. Hows it sound with 2 big muff running at once? If at all possible could you post clips of you running just the 2 big muffs?

It's not very special or different tone, at least in my opinion. Well, they make a kind of a interesting tone, because the other one is black russian and the other is USA muff. I use them with Boss LS-2 with many other effects and they are rarely both on at the same time. And when they are, it's mostly for making a really massive wall of smashing fuzz, with both muffs being tone at min and sustain max. I think the double muff is much more cooler than odb and muff, but best would be double muff AND odb. You could get some really nice tones... (or at least i think so)

Pork Loin: set for a slightly heavy overdrive, certainly the most natural sounding of the bunch, but lacks the Geddy-Entwistlely high end crunch I crave, that fortunately my Bass-Drive Mosfet has.

Swollen Pickle: heavy (like Nibbler poop heavy!) fuzz, it blows my Big Muffs out of the water! also use it with an octave for just general heaviness and also to emulate bass pedals on Police songs.

Tech 21 Red Ripper: mostly with my MXR BEF for a synthy sound. Don't use it much by itself. Loses the least low end IMO.

Bass-Drive Mosfet: newest and currently favorite overdrive. It's the closest I've come to finding that perfect overdrive tone I have in my head, lots of knobs and switches for tweaking. And it has a boost on top of all that! It might be the honeymoon phase, but it's getting lots of love on everything I play (even on things I usually don't use OD on).

Un-modded Sparkle Drive for light OD. Red Ripper for moderate synthy dirt. TAFM for most of the heavy lifting/riffing, well as much as I do with the current project. I have a ss/bs Hawk running into a SA BEF with the HH2 for some wobble work in a separate loop. I like the Hawk, surprised I don't see more here on TB, but the TAFM is better all around- more flexible, even though it can't cop exactly what the Hawk does.

I used to use a Fulltone BassDrive, which I like, but the SD has a separate clean signal control, and is smaller, so it won out. I used to use the Swollen Pickle too, and it can be pretty gnarly, but just too indistinct for me. I far prefer the TAFM or Hawk to it.

Been using the VT bass for a slight grind (switching to a B7K recently) at the end of my chain. In front of that I use the TAFM for a pretty smooth fuzz, Wooly Mammoth clone for gated sawtooth madness, Catalinbread SFT for over the top (kind of farty) distortion, Fuzzrocious Rat Tail for heavy distortion, Darkglass VMT for a little added warm grind. Recently picked up the W&C Pickle Pie B for muff-ish tones and a Geiger Counter for whatever chaos I can dream up.

Love dirt.
