@NealBass has a Chris Squire bass that started out cream and faded/irradiated itself to a bizarre orange color. (Maybe he'll entertain us by posting a photo ) They had some SERIOUS finish stability problems with the clearcoat back in the day. Might be why they switched to UV activated clearcoat.

Yea, it was the best sounding and playing 12 I ever owned. It was quite heavy, but fun to play. Really got some looks from the patrons when I pulled it out too...

That’s what I was thinking. Alembic prices are sky high now. I bought two in the early 1990’s. Together, they were under $2K.

A cheaper solution would be to glue a Rick bass to a Rick guitar, back to back, while wearing swiveling strap locks. Just flip and switch!
