These answers bring to mind a question. How well do Fender Basses stay in tune? I've played with guys playing Strats and they have to tune constantly.

In my experience they stay in tune fine. Even my Tele is OK as far as that goes. I bet the problem with the strats is the tremolo.

That could well be true. My geetars with tremelo have Floyd Rose locking ones so they stay in tune.

As a long time Strat player, I can tell you that 99% of Strat tuning problems are due to friction in the nut and string trees which stores string tension in the headstock whenever the tremelo is used. Unless your Fender bass has a floating bridge and whammy bar, you won't have that problem.

I just bought a fretless P Bass, it's my first P and my second fretless - I love it! I have rounds on mine, but the flats it came with sounded really good too.
