FYI. I did take it as a big compliment when I sat down with Doug Wimbish yesterday and talked tone with him yesterday when my band opened for Living Colour. He seems to think that me and a "non tube" SVT 3 and I sound really good together?? Maybe he was just being nice?
Really, dude. What's with all the hostility?

And you expected nobody to mention that it's not an actual tube amp in a thread that's specifically about tube amps? Nobody's commenting on the quality of tone you get with it. I'm sure it's great. It just isn't a tube amp, that's all. Sheesh...gonna give yourself a heart attack!

Plus for some reason I think Jeff & Floyd thought that when I said it was nice and cheap to by ss power amps to go along with a wall if cabs and it would maintain the same sound I meant as MY amp not a tube power amp!!!!! I'm smart enough to know that it's not going to sound like an all tube amp. Why do you think I choose the one I got?

Trace Elliot:
V-Type 220 (later called V4)
Twin Valve

I have old style Wayne Jones 210s and a 115.
Usually play the V-type through the 2 210s and the twin valve either through a single 210 or 115. But I mix it up sometimes too.

Thanks Rod! However, I do believe that if I posted that I just bought a brand new SVT-VR I'm pretty sure someone would say that they don't make them like they use to and that the wood that the head is made of isn't matured enough! Seen it to many times on here! That is why I'm a bit touchy. I thought I was going to be hung when I first joined and accidentally posted a vid of me on a double bass post a vid thread! Truly didn't see it and apologized and said I was new and still got racked over the coals. Oops??

I have 3 tube amps a Ampeg CL SVT ( I plan on doing the Heyboer output transformer swap ) and have a Traynor YBA-3 and I also have the Traynor YBA-3A
I don't use them much any more, as the places the band has been playing, have been small, and there really isn't the room on stage, been using a Aguilar TH500 and a Schroeder 1210 or a Berg HS410 .... below is the porn

Just thought I'd share. Sorry. Didn't get a pic of Doug but here's one of my singer with Vernon & Corey. Great gig! And great guys!!!View attachment 351211

I don't think anyone is saying your sound is bad, they just pointed out that you posted your hybrid amp in a thread titled "What tube amp do you play?"

I just picked up a Peavey 215D cab to go under my Eden E300T. I wasn't really digging the tube amp with my GK 410 Neos. But its whole different animal going through those two Black Widows. I couldn't really crank it it see how she really sounds in my apt, but I did push the limits a little bit. Hope nobody calls the office on me :p
