This one. Bought at a WoolCo in January of 1966 and kept about a year. If I'd had enough patience to wait to the weekend I could have gone to the music stores downtown and gotten a used bass with a better pedigree.

Mine was a 75 Ric, traded it fora 85 P bass and a SWR amp.

Even if I still had it I probably wouldn't play it but I still miss it. It was an awesome bass

Ibanez CT Series jewel blue four string. Still have it. I got it when I was nine in '92. Fun as hell to play slap on. I grabbed a pic from the Ibanez website catalog from that year. The only difference is that mine had dot inlays, not the ones you see here.

I kind of got pushed to play the bass so i grabbed the cheapest thing available. A Santander Sunburst 4-String from eBay... lol. Played it for round about 3 year. It actually sounded like cardboard ...

I think I posted this on a thread somewhere already, but mine was in 1964 - An Old Kraftsman by Kay. It came with a two channel bass amp for a cool $179 brand new out of the Speigel catalog. This is not mine, but mine was just like it. I always chuckle when I see the burst area on the back of the neck:

Back in the 60's we didn't have much of a choice in basses. Most of the time, if you were fortunate enough, your parents helped out and bought your first bass and as it goes they usually bought you something cheap to see if you'd stay with it.

Sears was the first choice for a lot of us.

Man when I got my first P bass in 1969 I thought I was in heaven after playing some of the junk I had been playing. But like you I haven't owned one since.
