What was your first bass guitar?

I got a MIM Fender P Bass for my first bass. I still have it.

1968 Vox Apollo IV hollow body with built in distortion and G tuner. Bought it new for $175.00 and sold it in '73 for $50.00.

It was around '68....a black and white Hagstrom II. The plastic faceplate around the input jack had been repaired so many times, it wouldn't even stay together. I traded it for a Gibson EBO.

Wish I still had the Hagstrom!

A Peavey fury. Which at this present moment only has a G and an E on it, a balled up piece of tissue below the E at the nut to help prevent fret buzz, a Rockstar sticker ,from the video game company, that came with Grand Theft Auto 3, a thumbtack in it the my friend smashed like half way in as a joke and I finished hammering in with a stapler, and thick coat of dust to boot. I wouldn't trade for the world.

Mom got it from S&H trading stamps in 1976. Took it to the music store where my brother took lessons to get an opinion. They showed me flaw after flaw, woodscrews in crooked, bridge off a few degrees. Mom returned it and bought me a Fender Music Man.

The first I played(for 6 month) was a Yamaha RBX260... God i hate that bass now(it was not mine), Now it's been 2 month that i have my ministar and it's funky as HELL!!!!!

Mine was a 1993 fender standard jazz in candy apple red. It is still very dear to me, and I use it just as much as my Sterling lately.

A Rogue SX100-B Horrid bass.... Neck was enormus, but it was given to to me to learn bass... actually had a punchy tone

I wish I still had it. It was an old beat up Precision that I got in the early 80s and gave away in the mid 80s because I had another main bass. No picture. Back of the neck was sculpted in a V and had a repair patch. I spoke to a retired old Fender employee who said it happened sometimes because the necks were hand shaped on a belt saw. If they were in a hurry to meet an order they'd patch stuff and push it out the door. I don't remember if it was a plank body or sculpted, it was too long ago. Natural finish, white pickguard, rosewood fingerboard.

I had a harmony bass. I wish I knew the model as I would love to have one just like it. I think it had a P-bass set up and the body was black with gold pickups if I remember correctly.

I let my ex barrow it so she could start learning and never got it back when we broke up . Sigh....
