Silvertone 1584 - a big 23 Watts. I gigged with this from 64-67
This is not mine, but it was the same year/model.

Same amp. I think I had a 2x12 bottom. Mine shorted out and caught on fire.
Went to a Fender Bassman.

It wasn't even a bass amp. It was a Harmony guitar amp.

Then I got a Fender Bassman head. And a used 2 12 cab. Wow!

Saved enough money detasseling corn during the summer of '65 to buy a Silvertone from the Sears catalog. 15 inch speaker and no way could it keep up with drums and guitars!

First one was a Trace Elliot Commando 112.

Second was a MTI-era SVT.

Then I has a Traynor Dynabass 400 for a bit, and an Ampeg PF350, now back to a 1994 SLM-era SVT.

HH V-S Musician with HH 2x15 cab and 'Clockwork Concubine' flanger. Green backlighting years before Trace Elliot and the UV thing came along, although the V-S was not really a proper bass amp, it worked quite well with the 2x15.

Mine was a no-name POS pawn shop special. Six inch speaker, open back, had a circuit board the size of a popsicle stick with about three transistors and a tiny transformer, vol and tone control, input jack and a pilot light were the whole of the front panel, and I'm farirly certain it was really a guitar amp. It came for free with the Maestro/Univox bass that my parents bought me.
At least the bass was decent.

Ampeg B100R. Paid $200 in a local pawn shop about 5 or 6 years ago.
I just thought all bass amps sounded this good. It's still the imprint of good tone in my mind.
Sold it because it had a bad line out. Mistake. Wish I had it back.
Heavy though.

Hey, I always enjoy this topic. Here's mine, '69 B25B with 2-15 cab. including caster dolly. This was my first "real" bass amp, I bought it at 16. I believe it was $200 (in 1976) but I borrowed some of the cash from my folks. Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Hendrix, CSNY to name a few of the bands that we covered.

Before the Ampeg though....there was this other rig. One of my dad's retired 25 watt tube Hi-Fi amp chassis', with exposed tubes and transformers, wish I had a picture of it. Through a huge, home built cab with a cast frame (heavy) 18" driver of unknown origin. The particle board cab/driver weighed 140 lbs. and of course I never installed handles on it. It was about the size of an 810 fridge and we called it "the coffin".
That first rig scored an A for effort, but probably couldn't touch your Ross for tone.

Anyway I still have the B25B and with the recent maintenance it's had, it sounds better than ever!

Wow, my first amp was from that era B25B. Talk about nostalgia. It was afull body experience; you could see air moving off the twin 15's, smell the heat off the tubes and feel the shock wave of air in your solar plexus. Once the police stopped by our practice barn. It seems we had multiple noise complaints, some from over 5 miles away. That was a proud day indeed. That amp could shake s#@t off the walls.

Kustom 250 with two 15" Altec speakers. It was the sparkle blue tuck and roll. When I turned it on, all the lights in a room would dim for a moment. Never turned it up past 3. It was LOUD! It couldn't take 5 string, though, and that's why I got rid of it.

My first bass amp was actually part of a PA system, I think. It was a 2-15" Community Light and Sound round-backed fiberglass cabinet (which beamed like crazy) powered by an Ampeg V-4. Since I also used it early in our show as a lead guitar amp, it had a Furman spring reverb unit in there, too. Loaded with Electro-Voice speakers, again of the guitar variety rather than bass. This was in the 70's, so....
