What Washburn Bass Do You Own (Database)?

Heya MortallyWounded--I got your number up in the Official Washburn Club (part 3) thread. You are #88 and I put your Force 8 BBR on the database list here also. You can find it here at post #133.
I almost bought that bass (its the used Gtr Center, right) but was afraid as they described the hunk out of the back. You can fill it with wood filler, paint it shiny black and you'll be good to go.
If you can find the black and red speed dials, I'd do it (let us know where you found them)! But always keep the originals. The Hipshot, if that's what you want---why not, you can always put the originals back on. I would try to keep everything black for sure though.

You are our only member to have a Force 8 BBR and SP_EB4L is our only member to have a B-8 BBR! I think only Melonthief and I have a Force 40 BBR. I just love these BBR's! Your binding, btw, is an unusual one with the 3 lines making up the red binding---really beautiful! Glad it belongs to one of us here!

I don't want to fill that missing hunk. It's just too cool. As far as the knobs go, are they likely original? They look like T-Bird knobs and frankly, I hate them. Hate them hate them hate them. Too skinny, too much white and not enough red, and worst of all they only go to 10. I want to get that extra 10% out of my amp so I need knobs that go to 11.

The pots on my Force 40 BBR are tophats. and not the fat barrel type like the T-Bird pictured here. Are your's like the picture? Different?

Well, consideringa)I don't play 4 stringers anymore,(b)the second wife was a keeper until she passed and (c)I got the bass super cheap(new) as the battery had leaked and oozed all over the back....cleaned it up and it worked like a dream. I got more for it than I paid.

Good to see you Willie the Pimp! Dang! You are right and I am sorry (forehead slap to self). You have that beautiful transparent red one. That makes it an S-70. The 70 came in transparent colors over walnut. The S-60 was usually ash wood and painted a solid color. The serial numbers were on stickers IIRC and fat chance many of those survived darn it. But its probably 1987-1989. Adding it NOW!

IMHO, CB series are the most underrated Washburns ever. Just a great instrument top to bottom... Feels like no other, Washie, or otherwise. Tonal possibilities are endless, always looking for another.... Notice how rarely they come up for sale? Good reason for it.

I'd kind of wondered about the low occurrence of them. I've never stumbled across another CB-16. I got a Schecter Studio 6 string after it - hated the Schec, back to the Washburn. The custom artwork is the only hitch...I can't bring myself to gig it. Has the most wonderful fingerboard for chording of any bass I own...apparently a very large radius, almost flat. I can can barr across all six strings with the index finger at some points, 5 string pretty much everywhere.

I agree with Randy Washburn. The CB series (2007-2009) are great basses, but somehow are under-rated. And edpal's CB-16 has an ebony fretboard! Man that's nice. I wonder what other CB's came with ebony.
