EBecko59 is right your bass is probably an XB-100, if it's the case than you should find its serial number in the neck plate at the junction of the neck and the back of the body. That's for the 90' made basses. if it's an 2000 and beyond you should have a white sticker at the back end of the head stock. if it isn't there its have been lost forever.

As far as I know these were made in China starting in 1999- and may have been produced later also ? They were entry level basses , Mahaogany bodies , Some came as part of a starter packs, I am guessing but I think yours is a 2004 ? Originally I thought these were only made 1999-2001 but I am not 100% sure, hope this helps some .....

I hope you'll recover rapidly (but not so fast because if 59 is your birth year you probably enjoy some rest after a full life of hard labour like me who's birth year is 1960). If you're looking for a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] here is a gem (XB-905). I only saw one played by Chuk Rainer in the late 90's on a Steely Dan dvd on Aja recording, his one was transparent blue, it's real expensive but's it's a rarity.

XB-100 fretless in tobacco burst, white serial sticker # I80102219. Any idea what year it was made?

This was a $75 Craigslist find. The wife wanted to try fretless, so for $75 I figured why not? It has a couple of dings on the side, but it is in good condition otherwise. It actually sounds pretty groovy but I don't think I am going to go fretless myself, a regular bass is tough enough!

It's wearing rounds that feel floppy and totally clapped out... I wonder if they have ever been changed. The intonation was way off and I had to slam the saddles all the way back to get it close. I assume that new strings will intonate better. Planning on trying tapes.

I am not much of a luthier but I am sure that I can bolt on a part if it fits!

You have to measure the holes but I believe Grover 144C (chrome) Mini Bass Tuners 2 x2 fit they have 20:1 ratio. Requires 9/16"(14mm) peghead holes. Includes screw-in bushings and mounting screws. Guitarpartsresource.com has them in chrome , black for just under $60 - Many Washburn basses came with Grover tuners along with Grover designed tuners , My XB-900 has the Grover branded Mini tuners in black- But you have to measure the hole -- Mine Grovers hold tune with no issues
