What Will Squier Do Next?

Start Pleking 'em. With the economies of scale, and how many squiers get sold, could it be done for a $50-$75 increase in price? I'd pay it. The sound quality is already there for sure.

Matching headstocks on the CV series would be cool. Some more nifty colors.
I like the elite II precision idea a lot.

And PS, the 77 J reissue (at least the one I have) is a monster sounding bass. I love mine.

The one thing is see Squiers doing is the price going up I like the direction they are going thou. Its funny Squier started off as a great bass and guitar company as good if not better than MIA with the JV/SQ that were MIJ. They then stopped making them since they were so great and they are are trust me ;)

Then they went south, then up again with Pro tones back south and up again today with VM/CV. We can only hope they stick around this time. IMO the Squier line today are the best thing going with Fender hands down.

How about a genuine 62' re-issue of the P and J? It would be the start of their "high end vintage" series.

Squier could probably sell it for around $600 -- for which I'm sure a lot of people will gladly pay.

Not me. The great thing about Squier is keeping the line affordable. That price is getting up there to high and what I fear might happen.

I have so much love for Squier's, I've actually never played a fundamentally "bad" one, i.e. there was a problem with the build - I've found that if I'm less than impressed with one it's merely the setup and can be fixed in 10 mins.

That being said, I would love to see them change their decals. I have one of their Jazz bases and the decal says J-Bass, maybe I'm just a purist snob but I would like it to say Jazz Bass.

Also, the decal on the back of the headstock says "made in China", or something to that effect. They make great instruments!, why can't they make it say made with pride in China...I know I sure am proud to play it!
