You literally have your basses covered. I have never seen an upright with an upper as narrow as the first bass you posted.

Ah, I may have misunderstood the assignment...
Using this definition, I guess my "guilty pleasure" bass would be my Ibanez SR300 in Green Metal flake. Curvaceous body, extremely skinny neck, attention-grabbing finish, and electronics Ibanez discontinued after only a year or two (radiused soapbars, "style-sweeper" EQ). Amazing build quality for 300 bucks, and stiĺl a hoot to play!

Honestly, something like an F Bass or a Fodera would be my guilt pleasure. I recently hit a career milestone and could afford to “splurge” but that’s a lot of money to put something that will essentially live at home with me. Then again, I also hit a bass playing milestone this past year with 20 years of playing under my belt… maybe I could “justify” it lol.
A Pre-CBS Fender. I have a Custom Shop P and J, and absolutely love them, but a real one from this Era is the holy grail for me.

But the ones that feel especially unjustifiable are the high-priced high-performance exotic 4-string instruments on my wish list, specifically because every now and then I have to remind myself that I already own one high-priced high-performance exotic 4-string instrument ...and it probably gets used the least of any of my basses!!!

I've got several basses that don't get played at all by silly old me. Some are on permanent loan(s) to younger players. If a couple of them changed owners, I'd be far more inclined to consider a "guilty pleasure" bass, even as a most remote possibility.

I had to think about how to answer this thread throughout the week. But the answer hit me today on my weekly trip to Guitar Center. I played an Ibanez SR 1305 and it was surprisingly nice!
It's my guilty pleasure because I've never really had luck with Ibanez basses. I owned an SR 405 as a teenager (my first ever 5 string bass and my second overall bass) and I didn't bond with it. I didn't like how confusing (and cheap) the electronics were and that the knobs barely turned. That made me not like Ibanez ever since I got rid of that bass.
But the SR 1305 was a huge upgrade! The electronics were not confusing, the tones I was getting were great, I love the finish, and it was ergonomically comfortable. Having a 5th string as a 4 string player was also a source of guilty pleasure. I wouldn't get 6 strings because it's too many to mute, but 5 is my limit.

Yesterday, I was in a Lisbon guitar shop (Mr Jack’s ) to pick up my Tune fretless from a setup, and spied a “new relic” $5k Fender CS Pino Precision.
I had no business doing so, but asked if I could play it a bit. That was a bit guilt-inducing!
I just wanted to see how it felt, and have to say I really loved the wide but shallow neck, but could never see spending that kind of cash for any single instrument.
