What would be your guilty pleasure bass?

My recent Fender Mod Shop Jazz is a guilty pleasure. I'd been holding off on it going back to the previous American Design Experience days, but when they re-introduced blocked Jazz necks, and I was able to apply a 10%-Off coupon, I had to pull the trigger. (Since I used my Best Buy card to purchase it, I got a tidy sum of rewards coupons to use on tech-stuff, so that's even more money saved! )

Suffice it to say, if I were in a situation where I had to evacuate with little-to-no warning, this would be the bass I would bug out with. (Within reason, almost anything I really dig about my other Projekt basses could be replicated at a later date. )

For a true guilty pleasure, I’d be looking for something pointy… Dean Metalman, B.C. Rich Warlock, heck, maybe even a Gene Simmons axe bass. Then I’d cover my geezerly bald noggin with a big ol’ wig, hit up the thrift shops for some leather pants, and rock the hair metal tunes of my misspent youth until someone my age told me to turn it down.

I would have to say a guilty pleasure would be a Ernie Ball Stingray. But, most of that pleasure is being fulfilled by a 2013 Ray 34.

Last week I bought a fretless Fender JB and two days ago I bought a short scale JB , I would not consider them a guilty pleasure . My real guilty pleasure would be buying a Sadowsky Will Lee I saw on Sweetwater that cost pocket change on a payment plan .

Epiphone EB 3, It has a very specific sound and I don't think it will work for me, but I like how it looks in black.

This for me, I learned bass on my old man's 63 EB3. I'd love to have that bass back but, it would go on the wall coz IMO they are dog crap basses, but damn do they look cool (especially when your guitaristnricks an SG and you both have Marshall stacks! Oh to be a teen again)

I don't play in bands anymore. I only play a couple of times a week at church. I'm a confirmed 5 stringer, even though I own several basses with 4, 6, 7, and 12 strings.

I have no need for the aggressive rock tone that this bass has. It also weighs between 12 and 15 pounds, and is neck heavy.

These days, they cost upwards of $3K, which would be a ridiculous price to pay for a bass that wouldn't get played very much.

And I want one really badly.

You should had contacted me 20 years ago. I sold my anchor boat for $250 LOL

If a guilty pleasure is something that I want but don’t have a use of it then for me it would be a Fender CS Precision, i got it cover with my different 5 strings but I’m curious if the high end of Fender’s best known instrument will make me feel something special.

I guess we all need a good Fender in the stable and it has been missing for a while in mine
