What would you buy with $$1600

I recently was awarded a check for 2k. I'm looking to buy a new bass but I'm not sure what I want to get. I love stingrays,Fender basses of all kinds. And dingwall is cool I'm open to many other brands aswell. I currently own an American pro jazz bass in sonic blue. I really want somthing that is going to cut through a mix well and bring the thunder. I'm not sure if I should buy new or used. Vintage or modern. What would you do?

RIC 4004 since I have a 4003s

Ric 4003 can be had for around $1400 in many places with discount coupons. I got mine last year for a little less than that.

Since you like Fenders and Musicmans I'd suggest also checking out a Caprice. It is definitely IMO the best of both worlds. I just got me one.

I'd say Ric, Bongo, or Caprice. Not necessarily in that order. Bongo and Ric bring more thunder than the Caprice, but the Caprice is the sweetest playing bass I ever owned. Hands down.
