What would your last ever bass purchase be?

I'm hoping it's the new American Standard P bass I just bought? :D
I said that about 47 days ago, when I walked out of the shop with my brand new American Standard P bass... Then I got the chance to try a G&L L-2000. It's like a damned 3-for-1. A Precision, MusicMan and a Jazz Bass all in one!

I think I've bought and sold more basses in the past two months than in my ten years of playing.

Whatever happens to be my last purchase before I'm perpetually horizontal...

Yep.

I have no intention to ever stop buying basses. Not looking for the Holy Grail. Actually think I found that years ago with my Big Al. Just like playing different instruments.

PS. @Joebone , did I ever mention that that was my nickname throughout my teen years, and I HATED it? I weighed about 120 lbs. and, the last letters of my last name are zone, so it got tacked instead of that, and then shortened to just Joe Bone, or Joe Bones.

That's all.

It would have to be a direct upgrade from my 10-string, so going with what I'd probably order right now if I actually needed an upgrade:
- Most likely a headless Stambaugh
- 12 strings (C# F# B E A D G C F Bb Eb G#)
- 26 fanned frets
- ~15mm string spacing
- Singlecut neck-through
- Custom Hipshot headless bridge
- Separate sets of mag pickups for high and low strings, with combo AND separate output, and MIDI piezos. Would need two MIDI outs, non-MIDI piezo signal going to combo out. Would probably consider using military RJ45 connectors to combine the non-midi outputs to save space.
- Master volume, low set balance, high set balance, low/high balance, mag/piezo balance :D
- Audere or Mike Pope preamp, 3 or 4-band EQ with adjustable mid freqs

- Khaya or some other light wood body wings
- Maple/Purpleheart laminate neck
- Something nice for the top
- Something equally nice for the fingerboard, color depending on the top :P

Don't think I'd ever need anything more after that. :roflmao:
