Killer! These are great basses. No idea why there aren't a lot more of them out there.UPDATE:

Thanks! They are great basses, I really just think that the "headless" part still evokes memories of the 80's for some folks. They just don't scream "ROCK 'N ROLL!", although that's exactly the kind of band I gig these with and they sound great! Having said that, even though I'll probably keep these beauties, I'm going back to Spectors, they do scream "ROCK 'N ROLL!"(Although the Radius basses are distant cousins of Spector basses. LOL! I do worship at the alter of Ned Steinberger, that guy is a bass designing GENIUS!)
Plus, they are $2,800 for the Czech-made basses. I have no idea how much the US custom shop stuff probably cost.
Yup. That's the only reason that I don't have one. I played one last year and absolutely loved the tone, but 35" is a dealbreaker for me. I am a 34" guy and my 34.5" FBass is JUST playable for me.35" scale is a deal-killer for me.

People have an assumption about what Smiths sound like and I think often it is wrong. My basses don't sound like a lot of the youtube vids. I can get an "attitude P-bass" tone out of these, a pingy attack, and a nice thick bridge tone, and more importantly, shades in-between. The Smith pickups/preamp just kills on a fretless. Too bad there aren't more of them around.

I've never played one of those either. The review in Bass Gear Magazine really makes him sound like an inspired craftsman.
