What's On Your Workbench?

My 5 string pink Paisley is taking up most of my spare time at the moment

I finally finished up a project that has been several months in the making. It's a digitallly-controlled, analog sample/hold, similar to the Subdecay Proteus. I designed this as a DIY project for the community, so I've got build docs, schematics, troubleshooting info, board layout files, etc. here: https://scientificguitarist.wixsite.com/home/the-dish

Here is a sounds-only demo that I put together.

Very cool! This is interesting because I am also thinking of ways to use digital controls for analog stuff, though my current efforts are mainly around using digital pots in place of expensive/large/hard-to-find/scratchy analog pots for onboard pre-amps.

Nice! I've always liked the idea of using a micro controller to do complex control functions on analog effects like this.

I have done several projects using digital control of analog effects. I did a MIDI controllable, 5-loop switcher, I've got a few others cooking that I will keep you guys apprised of.

Well I know its not the Amazing stuff alof of you guys create. I bought my first kit to dip my toe into the water. I got to say it was a blast.

It is a 30" short scale for my daughters bday. She loves "Descendants" so the colors match the main character. The only upgrades for now was graphtech nut and lebella deep talking flats. I am super happy with the outcome. Hydrodipped and graffiti on the pickguard. I learned alot and may have caught a bug. Haha

I dig the hydro-dipped finish. Those are tricky because they're so unpredictable. You never quite know what you'll end up with and whether it'll be any good.

Are those paisleys painted or is that some kind of transfer?
It's a sheet of wet print Kodak photographic paper. I was supplied the base image from another luthier and I sent it to a photographic lab and had 2 sheets printed on A2 Kodak metalised paper. It's quite thick paper. If I was going to do this again, I would fix the paper to the body before I rounded over the edges. Spray a number of clear coats to protect the paper and then round over the edges to get a smoother edge.

This is awesome!!! Nothing like the face of a kid with their new instrument!!! I've got a similar pic of my daughter

Electronics are currently on my "bench" (dining room table atm). Lovepedal Kalamazoo clone...

On the actual bench is a 12 string in need of a neck reset. Currently fitted up with my neck jig (the stewmac one was too pricey for this guy)

Looks like “fun!” Does the jig have a bolt or something pushing on the neck heel? It looks like there’s something rubber covered there but it’s hard to tell on my phone.

Yes! At the heel, there's a solid rubber 'foot' that can be screwed in to push on the heel. It's slotted for a screwdriver, and it's got about an inch of travel. Not ideal (I'm working on a longer travel bit for that) but I can also slowly adjust the turnbuckles to continue evenly pushing the neck forward. I'll try to get some pics (I always forget) when I start steaming the joint.
