- I'm highly opinionated and extremely self-assured
I love wheels on things so much I'm surprised I don't wear roller skates instead of shoes.![]()
It's not too late to remedy that!

Oh cool. Diddnt know that thanks!Good start, but the edges can be emory-cloth sanded/fine-filed/and polished to a high sheen making for a clean look.
I kinda thought the same thing, until I tried it. If you're doing the facet method with one of these, it can work for hogging the majority.I think I could ruin a neck with great speed and precision using an angle grinder like that.
Finished this chassis today.

Not really bass related but has tons of bass and I tried it with my 6 string fretless and it is clean at lower volume down to the low B, and gnarly at max volume. I could use it for a small gig.
Tweed Deluxe 5E3. 2 interactive channels, one tone, Loud AF into my 4x10 cab. I'm building a 2x10 combo cab to house it.
I use an angle grinder for arm and belly contours. I used them for many years in my day job. Mostly on metal. I’ve been hurt by them a few times…I think I could ruin a neck with great speed and precision using an angle grinder like that.Points for Bravery. I once forgot not to move an angle grinder in the direction of rotation and ground my thigh instead. Still have the scar. I’m still in the Facet Wuss Contingent.

BTW, what is that suspiciously Ric-ish headstock you got going there @ctmullins, are you holding out on us with Super Secret Builds?

I use 8" angle grinders everyday and I still haven't worked up the guts to use one of those.I will tell you that the Holey Galahad spinning at 12,000 rpm (or whatever it actually is) fills me with a deep and sober respect. I do not approach that with anything other than a clear and serious mindset, and two firm grips on the grinder.
I think the kids call them "Heelys" these days. You can even get 'em with lights!I love wheels on things so much I'm surprised I don't wear roller skates instead of shoes.![]()

The stuff you '"throw together from scraps" tends come out fabulously well. 30" scale? is there a build thread on this one?Yes….
Just throwing this together out of scraps.

After what I have to say has been the absolute worst three weeks of my life (and I'm putting that up against the month I spent in an overcrowded county jail where I had to sleep on a mattress on the floor in the walkway next to the door to the toilet room), I'm beyond thrilled to have my daily driver back on the road. I am not, however, thrilled to be working back in the office. We all have our battles I guess.
The final tally is - New flywheel, new pilot bushing, new clutch assembly, new clutch release bearing, new clutch hydraulic system (master and slave cylinder as well as all the plumbing between them) and at the end of the day I had to bypass the clutch safety switch so now I can start it without pushing the clutch in, which is not a great situation but I'll get over it pretty fast. She runs and drives fine. The clutch pedal travel is way different, you have to clear to the floor to disengage it and it engages almost immediately upon coming off the floor so you better be ready for it.![]()
