What's On Your Workbench?

Finishing up a bass for my building partner. First time I ever tried Tru-Oil finish. I think I'll knock some shine down if I can convince him... 5 woods in the body purpleheart, flame maple, red zebrawood, wenge, mahogany. Tried to bring some of that into the headstock.

Just finished up have to let it settle in and do final set up in the next couple days.. Thanks for looking. Was a mess getting the screws in the purpleheart! I had two screws just snap it sucked big time.

Delano reverse P with Aguilar OBP3 active/passive and mid shift sounds really good.. I wish I was right handed.

Thanks folks. I'm not 100% satisfied with the paint job, but I've learned a lot from the process. I chose that finish so that I could learn to use the spray equipment, and it has been very productive for that. Though the finish isn't perfect, I know where I went wrong, so I'm confident I can do a much better job next time. So rather than strip it down to chase a perfect finish, I'm going to button it up (it's just for me anyway) and move on to the next project.

And wraub, I like to describe my design style as...

PPG has a lower line called Shopline that is reasonably priced, and works very well. Just for future reference

The cost isn't that much of a concern. I mostly went with the Paint Shop stuff because it's available locally and pre-thinned, so that was one less thing I had to be worried about on my first go-around.

But I'm checking out the PPG Shopline stuff anyway. Thanks.

Right, I wouldn't use the Shopline stuff if it wasn't a quality product, the price is just a bonus. It was just a suggestion for next time. I greatly prefer a catalyzed product as it will fully cure much faster.
