So you're telling me that the Fender AmDlx basses (ash bodies) and the Fender Victor Bailey Signature (koa top, mahognay body) should sound exactly the same right? Lol, I don't think so.
Very good point. I've played both, and the sound is significantly different between the two basses. Also, I have two Sadowsky Modern 5-24s, one is koa on mahogany, and the other is alder. The koa/mahogany one is much more agressive sounding than the alder, which is mellower and warmer in tone. Both have maple necks with ebony fretboards.
