What's up with the Italians?

What's up with the Italians?
i think they're just taking advantage of all the irish shortcomings. who wouldn't do exactly that?

Wait, what?

This can't go unremarked, as one who calls in turn both Italy and Ireland home when I'm not here. Now here is Italy:

And the most beautiful ships ever to sail the seas are Italian. Spoken for truth.

The reason why I said that is the distance between the two cars in the picture. We don't drive cars like that, here. It doesn't matter if you are driving in a freeway or a dirt road, you MUST be at a maximum distance of 2 centemeters from the car in front of you. That's mandatory. We are very cuddly, we like kisses, you know. We share all the love we have here, so we must be intimate. It's also easier to exchange profanities between drivers without using bluetooth or complicated connection systems.
The same is when you are approaching pedestrian crossings. You MUST stop your car at a maximum distance of 2 centimeters from the pedestrian's knees. Again, that's mandatory.

Watching traffic in Milan is the finest free entertainment I've yet to encounter.

Speaking of Italian-mandatory, black skirts only is the rule I observe in the city. On that same note, I observe the normal and accepted behaviour of Italian men in a discotheque means a fight if attempted in the UK.

Remember the rules I posted before. They're often applied to people, not only cars. We must be close and share all the love. Promiscuity is your best friend.
If you want to see a fight around here, just drive your car like a normal person. I guarantee you you'll perish sooner or later. :p

Any cyclists there? I have a couple of local stories about them too...

Cyclists? Like finding yourself on a mountain road behind a bicycle race? Or behind this? That Ferrari is going to need a visit to the mechanic .... Better be prepared to just fan a handful of 100 Euro notes and hope for the best. :roflmao:

Italians generally tend to be creative and, hence, they often have brilliant ideas being, therefore, good starters ... unfortunately, however, they aren’t generally very proficient in the art of “consolidating” and, more often than not (and I say this as an Italian), the activities they started crumble down after some time ... in short:

Italians = good starters to be assigned to different tasks after some time or the task itself will be f... up otherwise ...

Note:

This also applies to never ending GAS

... the activities they started crumble down after some time ...

.... like ... a new government every year? :roflmao:

There is no equivalent I've ever seen of the strip tease political commentary on the tele. What's to say? It does get watched.

Hi, Tony. I recently watched your podcast with Jayme Lewis on The Bassist channel.
Oh nice...
So I hear you needed help going to sleep. I hope the podcast helped.

I was stationed in Sicily for 3 years while in the Navy. Lived in a villa we rented on Mt. Etna, just downslope of a small town called San Pietro Clarenza.

Sicilian driving was challenging. Sadly, some Americans didn't adapt (drive you car like a normal person) and we lost a few that way. Even lost the Executive Officer of the base. But, most of us got used to the difference.

Then, I drove through Rome for the first time. Wow! A magnitude more challenging than Sicily LOL. Only drove through Rome twice. On other trips to Italy and up into more northern Europe, we routed around Rome LOL. Which actually was the best decision to really enjoy more of Italy.

...and Ireland home when I'm not here.
A few years later, during a 6 month deployment, we pulled into Ireland, County Cork, Cobh, for 2 weeks. Morrighan, any chance you've been to Cobh? One cool memory was late night in an out-of-the-way pub where a patron would randomly start a song and the whole pub would join in. I actually knew one, Fiddler's Green, and being beer fueled, I joined right in LOL.

To keep this bass related, one afternoon in a pub in Cork, there was a band playing songs I never heard before. They invited me to play, we decided on a few Credence Clearwater tunes (John Fogarty having Irish ancestry). I was introduced, "All the way from America...!". My claim to international fame LOL.

Sorry for the nostalgia break. I really loved, and miss, traveling around Europe and the Mediterranean Sea area.
