Whats Wrong With Modern Teenagers?

I was practicing with this guitar player in our church's youth room the other day and was messing around and started playing Master Of Puppets, when this girl walked in, listened to me play and then said "I can text faster than you can play."I kid you not. What the freak kind of thing to say is that? (By the way, i'm a teenager, but i have common sense not to say things that stupid)
I got a parents, that's better than that. But nothing is better than this. (Sorry, been listening to a lot of Talking Heads.)

Why not make her your singer?
Just play instrumentals and she can txt the lyrics. The audience can read along on their cell phones and listen to you without the bothersome vocals.
No more singing offkey, coming in late.
Just think, the next step would be for you to text the changes and everyone can just hum along.

My guess is that the same thing is wrong with every generation of Teens as every other generation of teens, and that the same thing is wrong with this generation of parents as with every other generation of parents.
The real important thing is; CBgaragebassist, don't pass up any opportunity to talk to females!! It takes practice, and it's better to start practicing now than later, who knows when you might need to be really, really charming, and that kind of charm comes with practice

Challenge her to a duel. You play Master of Puppets, and have her text the lyrics. See who makes more mistakes. Then wish her a great future with her mad texting skills.

Oh God, yes they do. A guy's best dream and worst nightmare at the same time.
You should've asked for her number to take her up on that challenge, see if she's *ahem* up to speed.
That's why I'm happy to have grown up in a third world country where you gotta be Fast and Aware and Proactive and Ingenious and gotta develop Common Sense, not like Here in USA where everything is about being comfortable and easy and nothing hard and everything has to come to my hands without doing anything and all this TV stupidity and shallowness and money and materialism.
Idiots are all around the world though. But yeah, I agree... There's an age where kids become stupid, and then grow out of it, or stay there for the rest of their lives.

Don't take this the wrong way, but are you assuming that all US teens are like that? Because I'm pretty sure I'm not. I do have it relatively nice compared to third world countries, yes, but I still work hard and try to do good in school. And don't assume that everybody from your home country had to work as you did.
Sorry if I come off as a jerk saying this, and I don't mean to be one, but I had to point it out.
