I head up four small technology units at a 32,000 student land-grant university................I swear they have shrines to chalk in their office.

I spend a lot of time reviewing things like touch screen monitors, cameras that do/don't do face recognition, developments in overhead mics (the Shure microflex system looks impressive), new lecture capture and video management systems, and most of all - figuring out how to make these things transparent for the 20% of faculty who are so damn technology averse that I swear they have shrines to chalk in their office.

I love chalk. Dry erase was conceived in the eighth circle of hell.

Currently doing web and database development for a non-profit that provides mental health services to those who can't afford it. I've had every job in IT there is. I are a plummer , complete with a hairy butt crack and a good case of B.O. by 1 o'clock every afternoon. Plumming has taught me how to scratch , pick buggers and blow snot rockets. I do clean up pretty good for the gigs though.

Hmmm. An interesting approach (we're somewhat vastly smaller-scale, and recording is not a big deal yet if ever, but it's a thing to think about going forward, as indeed dry erase is from heck and the chalk is a dusty mess.) I'm going to have to try one and see how it sells.

Electronics Technician for the USPS. Started out as a clerk almost 30 years ago, now I fix the machines I used to operate. My favorite job I ever had was sonar technician in the Navy. Like a video game...only real.
